Celebration of independence from Britain in 1960.

Foundation of the Somali Republic : Somalia.
The day the Somali Republic was founded in 1960 with the merger of British Somaliland and Italian Somaliland.

Canada Day : Canada (Observed)
Celebrates the confederation of upper and lower Canada in 1867. Normally celebrated on July 1st unless that date occurs on a weekend.

  • Independence Day : United States.
    Day of the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 1776.
July 5

Independence Day : Algeria.
Celebration of independence from France in 1962.

Independence Day : Venezuela.
Declared independence from Spain in 1811.

July 9

Independence Day : Argentina.
Declared independence from Spain in 1816.

  • Martyrdom of the Bab : Baha’i. Commemorates the martyrdom of the Bab in Tabriz, Persia, in 1850 C.E.
July 10

Independence Day : Bahamas.
Commemorates independence from Britain in 1973. Celebrated July 3rd through July 10th.

July 14

Bastille Day : France.
Celebration of the fall of the Bastille and the beginning of the French Revolution in 1789.

Constitution Day : South Korea.
Commemorates the establishment of the South Korean Constitution in 1963.

July 19

National Liberation Day : Nicaragua.
Day of the fall of the Somoza dictatorship in 1979.

July 20

Independence Day : Colombia.
National holiday celebrating independence from Spain in 1819.

July 21

National Holiday : Belgium.
Day of independence from the Netherlands in 1831.

July 23

Revolution Day : Egypt.
Celebrates the overthrow of the Egyptian monarchy under King Farouk and the proclamation of the republic in 1952.

July 25

Constitution Day: Puerto Rico.
Commemorates the approval of the Puerto Rican constitution in 1952.

Republic Day: Tunisia.
Commemorates the end of the Tunisian monarchy and the establishment of a republic in 1957.

July 25-27

Revolution Days : Cuba.
Marks the beginning in 1953 of Fidel Castro’s struggle to overthrow the Battista dictatorship. The three days are public holidays in Cuba.

July 28 - 29

Independence Day : Peru.
Two-day holiday commemorating independence from Spain in 1821.

July 30

National Day  (Throne Day) : Morocco.
Commemorates independence from France and Spain in 1915 and enthronement of the current king of Morocco, Mohamed VI.
